How Can We Help?
Where your child should start
When your child logs in to Rodocodo, they can start learning straight away. There’s nothing you need to set up.
Most children can simply press play and begin.
Start from the beginning
Children should begin at the first level of their course and work through in order.
They won’t be able to skip ahead, and that’s intentional. The courses are designed to build skills step by step, so each level prepares them for the next.
Choosing the right course
Rodocodo includes both free and premium courses.
Free courses
All accounts have access to:
- Junior (ages 4–7)
- Explorer: Part 1 (ages 7–11)
- Explorer: Part 2 (ages 7–11)
These are a good way for your child to get started and explore coding.
Premium courses
With a premium subscription, your child also has access to:
- Foundations (ages 4–7)
- Fundamentals (ages 7–11)
These follow a more structured progression and cover the same content as the school curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6.
If your child has access to premium, it’s best for them to start here, as these courses provide a smoother and more complete learning journey.
- Younger children should start with Foundations
- Older children should start with Fundamentals
Not sure where to begin?
- If you’re using the free version, your child can start with Junior or Explorer: Part 1
- If you have premium, your child should begin with Foundations or Fundamentals
Your child can move on to the next course once they feel confident.
How progress works
Each level is rated with up to 3 stars, showing how well your child understands it:
- ⭐ 1 star: not yet understood
- ⭐⭐ 2 stars: basics grasped
- ⭐⭐⭐ 3 stars: full understanding
Encourage your child to aim for 3 stars, as this shows they’ve fully understood the level.
It’s normal for children to get 1 or 2 stars at first. They can revisit levels to improve their understanding.
Some levels are designed to challenge your child’s thinking, so it may take a few attempts to reach 3 stars.
Let your child explore and solve problems
Rodocodo is designed to help children develop problem-solving skills.
It’s normal for children to:
- try different ideas
- make mistakes
- adjust their approach and try again
Giving them time to work things out on their own helps build confidence and understanding.
No need to unlock content
In the family version, your child can work through the course from start to finish without anything needing to be unlocked.
